Last weekend, we hosted the Dalkeith Country Fair in our front yard. It was all pretty raucous. Bagpipes woke me up both Saturday and Sunday mornings. The fair was a very big to-do because there was a lot of advertising and hype about it. We had all sorts of booths outside--a beer tent, exotic meats, candy stands, craft tables, archery, target shooting, jousting, and a ferris wheel among others. It was so exciting to be able to drink at a fair for the first time. It sounds kind of pathetic, but I felt grown up. Kaylee and I rode the ferris wheel; it was definitely worth 2.50 to say that I rode in a ferris wheel in my own front yard! It was neat to see all of the people in our yard. It's unfortunate that the weather wasn't very nice because otherwise it would've had a larger crowd. On Sunday, it was Easter. I was lucky enough to Skype with my family so I could join in for Easter lunch. It was very cool because it was like I was there! I'm counting down the days until I can see them again; there are only 26 days left!
This weekend has been very lazy. I haven't been able to fall asleep until the wee hours of the morning, so I've jumped at the chance to sleep in during the weekend. Yesterday was Friday the 13th, so a bunch of kids from the house got together to watch scary movies. It was a good time to hang out together. And today I've been completely lazy. I've watched a few movies, and I don't plan on doing anything else, really. At this point, I'm just waiting until I can come back home. I feel like I'm ready for my time here to be over because I don't want to spend any more money and I miss home and my people. I'll talk to you all soon!
